Free Post #5: Art 1201
When I signed up for this class I was only thinking that the class would be an easy A, I would just show up, do a few worksheets, watch videos, and take a few tests. On the first day of class I realized that this was not the case. Throughout the projects and the assignments and the blogs I have learned more about art and artists and art movements then I have throughout my entire life. The class intrigued me and really made me interested in art. I would recommend the class to anyone wanting to learn more about art, and even if they didn't I would still recommend it because it was such a great experience.

Free Post #3: Cage The Elephant

Cage the Elephant is a band I fell in love with over the summer. A lot of there songs deal with human behavior, nature, and struggle. They have a way of making their lyrics powerful and yet putting them with music that is soothing and fun. It's a way to express feelings without in your face anger. Their single "Ain't No Rest For The Wicked" is a great song, and although the title isn't exactly correct grammar, the meaning is true at that. A few other songs of theirs I love are "In One Ear", "Free Love", and "Drones in the Valley".
Free Post #2: Seven

The movie Seven depicts how the seven deadly sins are acted out. In this movie, the criminal who is killing these people because of their sins, an in turn killing them with their sins: greed, envy, sloth, gluttony, lust, pride, wrath. The movie is art because the director of this movie made the killings monumental in a way. I really enjoyed watching this movie and have watched it many times, always finding something new to the story. It really makes you think.
_____ is a culture because....
All stereotypes are cultures. High school stereotypes like, prep, punk, emo, skater, jock are all cultures. These kids live, eat, and breathe by these stereotypes. The types of clothes they were, places they go, and attitudes they have a defined by these stereotypes. I noticed this as a was with my sisters friends, as they pointed out different people in the mall, and how they all acted like each other and dressed alike. These stereotypes have been around for years, and while they have altered a bit they still have the same meaning to them.
Art on YouTube
When I went and searched "art" on YouTube bout a million videos popped up. As I started watching a few videos I realized the videos consisted of paintings, photographs, music videos, movies and much more. All of which is considered art by whoever posted the videos. Art is everywhere, and you dont have to "search art" to find it.
Art and Film
Art and Film go hand in hand. Artwork is what the artists sees something as or what something means to them, feeling or intellectual. A film is what the writer or director interprets something as, like a story that has been written and is now turning into a film. Films are art. Art applies to something created by a human to express meaning or feeling.
